Sarah S. Lane, 96, of Bringhurst, IN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Milner Community Health in Rossville. Sarah was born to the late Clarence and Myrtle Gibson Starbuck in Logansport, IN on October 5, 1921.
Sarah retired after 20 years from Globe Valve in Delphi. She also helped on the farm.
On January 1, 1941 in Logansport Sarah S. Starbuck married William Henry Lane Jr., and he preceded her in September 2007.
Sarah graduated from Flora High School in 1939. She attended the Burlington Church of Christ, enjoyed quilting, and working outside in her garden.
Sarah is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary Jo and Keith McAninch, and Melody Kilty both of Bringhurst. Two sons and a daughter-in-law: William Henry Lane III of Kendallville, IN., and Jack Edward and Garen Lane of Bringhurst. One brother: Jim Starbuck. Two sisters: Beverly Bartunek and Helen VanLaningham. Eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, husband, three brothers- Clarence, George and Marion, two sisters- Evelyn and Viola.
Mrs. Lane’s family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 1:00 PM till time of her celebration of life service at 2:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Pastor David Osborne officiating. Burial to follow at Colburn Cemetery. Family ask that all memorial donations be given to the Burlington Church of Christ, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
