Ruth Elizabeth Burns, 93, of Flora, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, July 31, 2021, at her home. Ruth was born to the late Loren and Martha Frailing Wolf on December 22, 1927, in Carroll County. On June 6, 1948, she married Billy Price Burns and he went to heaven in September of 2016 after being married for 68 years. Ruth worked at Delco in Kokomo, the Bag Factory in Flora and made a home for her husband and three daughters. She was known for her homemade noodles and baking for family and church get togethers. Ruth would always lend a helping hand with her daughter, Pat, at The Carousel Flowers and Gifts in Burlington. She attended Carrolltin School, enjoyed fishing and camping. Her love for her Lord and Savior was a staple in her life. She was a member of Hope Community Fellowship. Ruth is survived by her three daughters: Patricia Ann “Patti” (Will) Hufford, Shirley Jo Trent and Kathy Lou (Sonny) Huddleston. One sister: Esther Houser. Ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, husband, grandson-Troy Trent, two sisters- Evelyn Riffey and Pauline Wolf, three brothers- Lowell, Paul and Wayne Wolf and son-in-law-Roger Trent.
Ruth’s family invite friends to visit Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hope Community Fellowship, 7012 East 50 North, Flora, IN 46929. A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the church. Pastor Mike Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery next to her husband. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Community Fellowship, envelopes will be available at the church.
