Roger Lee Meador, 70, of Cutler Indiana, departed peacefully from this life at his home surrounded by family on November 6, 2024. His short battle with cancer was filled with the blessing of visits and well-wishing from many family and friends. He was anointed in October and was able to bless his family with words of encouragement and gentle instruction as he saw his day approaching. Roger was born to Duane and Lois Metzger Meador on April 20 1954. He was united in holy matrimony to Connie Sue Wagoner on September 1, 1974. Together they accepted Christ as their Savior and were baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church on September 26, 1974. To this union were born 3 sons: Nolan (Barbara), Kendal (Emilie) and Arlyn (Lanita). Roger lovingly provided for his family by working at Brimco and then Wolf Machine. Later in life he operated a sharpening business, allowing him to care for Connie through her failing health. His dedication and devotion were witnessed by all who knew him. In addition to his work, Roger and Connie were able to operate a home bakery, cleaning service, and yard mowing business. Dad faithfully cared for Mother through MS, and eventually lost her to cancer on May 5, 2016.

After 4 lonely years, he was happily united in marriage with Rose Cable on September 19, 2020 with whom he spent his remaining time. Rose has brought joy to our family that has been priceless and has helped Dad through the final years of his life. He found time to enjoy his children and grandchildren in many ways that showed his willingness to always be thinking of others. After being diagnosed with pancreatic and lung cancer in September, it became more apparent that his heart was set on the wellbeing of everyone around him. His vision of eternity with his Creator increased as the disease quickly progressed, and He blessed his family with examples of serving others even until the end.

He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Cable) of 4 years, three sons, three brothers Stuart (Marilyn), Craig (Vickie), and Dennis (Jada), mother-in-law Doris Wagoner, aunt Leora Wagoner, two step sons Philip (Chris) Cable and Mark (Andrea) Cable, one step daughter Leah Abbott, brother-in-law David (Susan) Wagoner, sister-in-law Donna (Allen) Markley, twenty grandchildren, one great grandchild, eight step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Connie, parents, father-in-law Kenneth Wagoner, and an infant grandchild Hannah Meador.

We as a family are resigned to the ultimate will of the heavenly Father, and we will cherish Dad’s wonderful example of gentleness and meekness.

The Meador Family invite friends to visit Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Flora Old German Baptist Brethren Church. The funeral will be at 10:00am on Sunday at the church. Officiating will be the Home Brethren. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
