Obituaries

Ricky L. Michael, 66, of Delphi, died Thursday, March 24, 2022, in the Emergency Room at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. Ricky was born to Robert E. and Martha Belle Harmon Michael in Lafayette, In on September 3, 1955. Ricky at one time worked at Mann’s Chevrolet. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1974. Ricky loved cars and attended First Christian Church Flora. Ricky is survived by his mother: Martha Belle Harmon of Delphi. Two sisters: Lisa (Richard) Widner of Delphi and Sandy (Clarence) Jervis of Winter Haven, Fl. He is preceded by his father, two brothers Curtis and Thomas Michael.

Friends are invited to visit Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center Street, Flora, In 46929. Memorials may be made to charity of choice in Ricky L. Michaels honor.

I worked with Ricky at Logansport State Hospital many years ago. I remember him as being so kind and helpful to me when I was new, just starting there. Ricky had a kind heart and was so thoughtful. I know he had medical issues the last several years. I know he is in Heaven with Jesus with his body healed and free of pain and suffering! I pray his family finds comfort in knowing Ricky has been completely healed and is with Jesus until they can all be together again.

So sorry to hear about Ricky I have known Ricky ever since he worked at Manns .Then he came to work at the State Hospital,we had alot of good times and alot of laughs. Fly with the angels rick.

I would have rather not found out on fb that you passed. And tomorrow is your funeral which without notice I won’t be able to attend. Please know that it was amazing to have 2 dad’s that loved and supported me. Loving my kids and their kids. You never tried to take my dad’s place, you always told me I already had a great dad. We didn’t always get along but you supported me just the same. You are whole again without the pain. Fly high with the angels! Love you always! 💜💜💜

It has been many years since I saw Rick, but I have so many memories of us all growing up together and I am glad to be able to remember him as a happy person who cared a lot for others. I hope your memories will bring you all comfort in the coming days. Love to the family.

We were so sad to hear of Rick’s passing but so glad to know that he is at last in God’s loving arms and no longer suffering and in pain! We worked with him for years at the State Hosp. and he was a really kind, sweet person and a good friend! We’re so sorry for your loss and are sending our condolences and prayers to your whole family! God Bless You!
