Rebekah A. Voorhees, 40, of South Bend, IN passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, in South Bend. Rebekah was born on January 28, 1982 in Kokomo to Jimmy R Voorhees and Cynthia J Gonzalez. Rebekah worked at Family Dollar and Barnaby’s in South Bend. While living in Houston Texas she worked at a nursing home and in Lafayette she worked for Guardian Angles Home Healthcare and Hospice. Rebekah enjoyed helping people. She was an avid comic book reader, enjoyed painting, photography, movies and various music. Rebekah is survived by six children: Kalen Hardcastle, Ashton Nenna, Johnan Nenna, Lillianne Kmitta, Uri Kmitta and Caleb Rucka. Mother: Cindy Voorhees. Father and step-mother: Jim and Sue Voorhees. Siblings: Nathan Voorhees, Kassie Voorhees, Jordan Voorhees, Justin Davis and Austin Davis. Fiancée: Elijah Damien Davis. Paternal grandmother: Ruth Voorhees. Maternal grandmother and step grandfather: Mary and Roy Buckner. Step grandmother: Linda Gonzalez. Preceding her in death are grandfathers-Alejandro Gonzalez and Charlie Voorhees.
The Family of Rebekah invite friends to visit, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Celebration of Rebekah’s life will start at 2:00pm at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Her uncle Chris Gonzalez will officiate. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery. The family has asked that all memorial donations be directed to the family, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
