Mary Jane Stratton King, 88
Mary Jane Stratton King, 88, of Camden, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi. Mary was born to the late Ray A. and Vera O. Stephen Stratton on June 29, 1926 in Redkey, Indiana.Mary married Edgar I King Jr. on April 20, 1946 at her parent’s home in Flora and he preceded her December 23, 2000.Mary worked at Flora Dairyland, she graduated from North Judson High School in 1944. Mary was a member of the American Legion Aux, Carroll County Homemakers Club. Carroll County Chorus, Leader of Cub and Girl Scouts, euchre clubs and enjoyed bunco. Mary earned the honor to attend Girls State in 1942. Mary was a member of Living Faith Church of the Brethren.
Survivors are 5 daughters and son-in-laws: Elizabeth “Libby: Lucas of Nebraska: Becky King of Flora: Kathy and Bill Dittman of Camden: Joyce and Lee Simpson and Carla and John Buchanan of Flora. One son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Carol King of Michigan. 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband, parents, brother and sister.
Mary’s family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10 from 4-7 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel. 204 S. Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Tomson. Burial to follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
