Maria Louisa Leija, 78, of Flora, died at her home Friday, September 24, 2021, with her family at her side. Maria was born on June 10, 1943, in San Juan, Texas to the late Moises and Consuelo Cardoza Torres. On May 1, 1963, Maria married Eraclio “Eddy” Leija in Texas, and he survives. Maria and her husband came to Flora in 1969 to start their family and worked picking tomatoes in Elwood, IN for many years. She was a proud Catholic.
