Janet L Best, 88, of Bringhurst, Indiana, died at 10:33 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette. Janet was born to the late Vernon and Elva Douglas Payne on January 21, 1934, in Forest, Indiana. She married Willard Best on August 24, 1957, in Greensburg, Indiana and he preceded her on February 12, 2020. Janet was the first female bus driver for Carroll Schools and was a substitute teacher at Carroll Schools. She was a graduate of Cutler High School and Stephens College. Janet and Willard enjoyed clogging and won a competition in Indianapolis. Their daughter Carla and her son Evan make three generations of cloggers.
