Harriett J. McNabb 70, of Whitestown, IN formally of Lafayette, IN died Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Zionsville Meadows. Harriet was born in Lafayette, on March 18, 1952, to the late Elmer and Mildred Culp Gross. Harriett married Terry McNabb on July 21, 1974, in Lafayette and he survives. She taught middle school English for Tippecanoe School Corporation, mainly at Wea Ridge Middle School. After retiring from teaching, she opened a daycare in her home. Harriett graduated from Southwestern High School in 1970 and received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Purdue University. Harriet was the founder of Village Yarn Shop in Zionsville. She enjoyed reading, knitting, needle point, crocheting and sewing. Harriett is survived by her husband of 47 years, Terry McNabb. Daughter: Elisha Krug of Zionsville. Her precious grandchildren: Katherine, Owen, Spencer, Kendall and Ethan Krug. Sister in-law: Brenda (Dan) Peterson.
Graveside Services are 2:00pm Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Springvale Cemetery in Lafayette. David Shaw will officiate. Memorial donations may be given in Harriett’s name to the charity of donor’s choice.

May 18, 2022 4:20 pm ·Terry and Elisha, we mourn for your loss. I first met Harriett at her yarn shop where she made every person who walked in feel welcome. My family will never forget her, and what a joy she was to all to knew her. She was an absolute gem. The world is poorer without her.
