Georgette Marie Thomas (Schiro) 77 of Lafayette Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9th, 2025. She was born on September 19th, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George and Dolores (Carlson) Schiro. Georgette graduated from Prospect High School and continued her education at Prairie State University to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent her career working in healthcare until her retirement. She always put others before herself and took the time to help others in any way she could. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son Christopher Schiro and an adoring grandmother to her granddaughter Harper Schiro. She was devoted to God and her church. She sang in her church band, taught Sunday school, and once aspired to be a pastor. She loved to draw and create charcoal and pastel artwork.
She is survived by Christopher Schiro(son) Harper Schiro(granddaughter)
Brandelyn Tarter(son’s longtime partner)
And her children Alyvia Galletta,Easton Galletta
Michelle Rhody(niece)
Paul Rhody(nephew)
and Elana Bonilla (great niece)
Preceded in death by her parents and sister Paulette Rhody(Schiro)
Gathering of family and friends will be held at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel 204 S Center Street, Flora, IN 46929 Thursday, February 20th from 11:00am to 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the assist the family.
