Edward Thomas Payton Sr.
October 29, 1935 – September 25, 2024
Edward “Tom” Thomas Payton, Sr. (88) of Flora, IN passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of September 25, 2024, days after celebrating his 70th anniversary with Linda Faye Payton (Strohm)
He is survived by Linda and their children, Tom Jr. (Becky) Payton of Lafayette, Tim Payton of Peoria, IL, Terry (Kimberly) Payton of Newport, VT, Elizabeth (David) Hammer of Rincon, GA, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Tom enjoyed fishing and photography. He sang and played his guitar for many churches throughout his life. As a lay minister and chaplain, he provided worship and counseling services to residents of several nursing homes in Illinois and Massachusetts.
The Payton family will see visitors from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday September 28, 2024, at:
Crossroads Community Christian Church
3570 E. 200 S. Bringhurst, IN 46913.
Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Dan Butcher officiating.

Sending you all hugs and prayers. Uncle Tom was an amazing man with a big Heart. So many wonderful memories with him and your family. I can see and hear him singing with all his sisters and family in Heaven. What a wonderful place to be. May God comfort you all during this difficult time.
