Curtis M. Ayers, 71, of Flora, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Lafayette, IN. Curtis was born to the late Curtis Bruce and Martha Ayers on July 5, 1947 in Lafalotte, TN. Curtis was a truck driver and drove for Hog Slat. He loved music, family and friends. He was very active with the Cutler Cut Ups for years. He would visit nursing homes with a group of people to sing and make the residents smile. Curtis is survived by two daughters: Lana Kay Shevitz and Melinda Ann Ayers both of Pennsylvania. Two sons: Tony Ayers of Alabama and John Blake of Flora. Sister: Lois Freeman of Tennessee. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. His fiancé Janice Ayers of Flora. He is preceded by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Curtis’s family invite friends to visit Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Dan Butcher will officiate. Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery.

November 10, 2018 8:35 am ·So sorry to hear Curtis has passed. We certainly enjoyed hearing him sing during this year’s farmers markets and Depot Day Festival in Flora. A talented, nice man, he will be missed.
