Betty J. (Lucas) Knies, 71, of Jasper formerly of Flora, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, October 22, 2018 in Jasper. Betty was born to the late Harry and Eva Hamilton Lucas on September 28, 1947 in Flora.
Betty was a home maker and attended Carroll High School. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outside. Betty loved her family, but her grandchildren had a special spot in her heart.
Betty is survived by her daughter, who she made her home with: Marlena (Kevin) Setser of Jasper. One son: Jerry Morris Jr. of Burlington. One sister: Linda Draper of Flora. Three brothers: Harry (Anna) Lucas Jr. of Flora, Jim (Tish) Lucas of Winamac and Ted (Rita) Lucas of Flora. Nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded by a daughter- Regina Hartman on September 4, 2008 and a great-grandchild.
The family of Betty J. (Lucas) Knies invites friends to visit Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11:00 AM till time of service at 1:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 South Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Officiating will be Lee Howe.
Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to charity of choice in Betty’s memory.
