Alicemarie Odell, 91, formerly of the Flora area, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV where she had live for a number of years. She also lived in San Juan Capistrano, CA prior to moving to Las Vegas.
Alicemarie was born to the late Chester E. and Roxie Zook Wingard on April 2, 1925 in Kokomo, IN.
She married Kenneth E. Odell on April 29, 1942 in Flora and he preceded her on June 21, 1991. ]
Alicemarie worked as an telephone operator in Mulberry and also with National Homes in Lafayette. She was the assistant manager for Texoma Jewelers in Lafayette and then she transferred to California as assistant purchasing agent for two home improvement store.
Alicemarie was an active member of her church in California. She enjoyed writing poetry and an avid artist.
She is survived by one daughter: Loraine Carol Golding of Las Vegas, NV. Two grandchildren: Dawn Golding and Craig Golding. One sisters: Reba Warner of Ohio. She is preceded by her parents, husband, daughter and two sisters.
Mrs. Odell’s family will receive friends Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 12 noon till time of service at 1:00 PM at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center Street, Flora, IN 46929. Rev Dave Osborne officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Alicemarie left detailed instructions that she wanted her service to be a Celebration of Life. Memorials may be given to donor’s choice.
