Alice A Lambert, 84, of Delphi formally of Camden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the emergency room at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette. Alice was born to the late Jessie and Verna Spears Shaw on August 23, 1939, in Monroe County, KY. She married Sterling Stewart, and later divorced. On July 11, 1964, in Clinton County Alice married Wayne Lambert and he died September 11, 2008. Alice worked at Sayco as a line captain. She was involved with the Silver Belle Home Eco Club in Carroll County. She enjoyed reading, euchre, puzzles and bingo. Family was the most important thing in Alice’s life, she would attend sporting events at Carroll and Western Schools to watch her grandchildren. She was a proud mother of six children, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Alice had been a resident of the St. Elizabeth Health Care in Delphi for 7 1/2 years, where she was active and lead a Bible Study. She was a member of Jubilee Church (Northview Church) and had recently attended Crossroads Community Christian Church. Alice was known as “Grandma Alice” to many in our community. Alice is survived by two sons: Darrell (Tena) Stewart of Cutler and Duane Stewart of Camden. Two daughters: Deb (Chuck) Foreman of Camden and Deanne Lambert of Camden. Daughter in-law: Stephanie Lambert of Flora. Seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is preceded by her parents, husband Wayne, two sons-Doug Steward and Dave Lambert, two grandsons- Jessie Stewart and Adam Stewart and siblings.
The Family of Alice invite friends to visit Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Northview Church, 687 E 50 N, Flora, IN 46929. A Celebration of Alice Lambert’s Life will start at 11:00am Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the church. Pastor Dan Butcher and Michele Reed will officiate and speak. Burial to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery next to her husband Wayne. The family asks that donations be made in Alice’s memory to the Little Lambs Preschool at Crossroads Community Christian Church, Bringhurst in lieu of flowers.
